Dillon Raum (21)

Only one month ago, Dillon Raum (21) served as his classmates chosen speaker at Commencement 2021. And, within the next few months, he will head out to Scottsdale, Arizona, to teach Euclid to high school students. Between now and then, though, he is returning to the California campus to serve, for the third time, as a prefect for the High School Great Books Summer Program.

Funny enough, this year I am most excited for the end of the program, Dillon reflects. I love watching the slideshow at the end, and seeing some of the best moments woven together so beautifully. Its always on the last day when we say goodbye to new friends and this place that we see that something real, human, and beautiful happened here over those two weeks. Its incredible.

Although many students consider the Summer Program an opportunity to discern their college plans, Dillon cautions them to make sure they dont spend all their time looking ahead. When youre at the program, dont focus too much on the future. Make some good friends, have great conversations! Enjoy the classes and have some fun, he says. If you really give yourself to experiencing TAC and its offerings, youll probably know whether or not its the school for you without needing to think too hard.

Students on the Summer Program may be interested to know that Dillon is engaged and that his fiancée will be a fellow prefect! We will introduce her on tomorrows /SummerBlog post.
