Students on the New England High School Summer Program were quick to change after Thursday檚 classes. Following a brief final dance lesson, they ran down the hill for the recreation period, highlighted by an intense game of volleyball!

Best of all, several tutors joined in the fun! Ever competitive, the programmers brought their A-game, with Admissions Counselor Jean Guerreiro (22) and prefect Andie Margand (26) leading their team to victory. Many attendees were excited to learn that the faculty often plays sports with students during the school year. 淚t檚 a great part of the community spirit, said Admissions Director John Jost. 淭he tutors don檛 stay in the classrooms. They檙e at meals, events and lectures, fostering conversations outside of class time.
Having worked up quite an appetite, students dug into tacos el pastor at dinner, piling their plates with tortillas, Mexican pulled pork, and a variety of toppings. Mixing and mingling, the high schoolers lingered a bit longer for their last typical dinner of the program. Afterward, they made their way to study hour.

For the program檚 last session, the students read Flannery O機onnor檚 Parker檚 Back. 淭his story brings up so many fascinating discussions in class, said Mr. Jost. 淚 always get excited when students read it.
As the sun set behind Mt. Monadnock, attendees trekked to St. Gianna Molla Hall to practice their Euclidean propositions. 淚 can檛 believe these are the last three we檙e studying, said Caitriona M. Prefects worked with students until they grasped the concepts and logic behind the propositions and could smoothly present them.
Following nightly Rosary in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel, prefects led the attendees down to Bl. Frassati Student Center for the final Coffee Shop hour. Prefects Paloma Gallivan (27) and Georgiana Egan (24) served up Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers to the attendees, who spread out across the hall to socialize.

Upstairs on the balcony, Prefect Stephen Brown (25) led some impromptu swing dancing, teaching programmers a few extra turns and tricks to use at tonight檚 banquet. 淚檓 just so excited for the banquet and dance, gushed Kianna L. 淚t檚 going to be so much fun!
Under the light of the moon, programmers and prefects made their way back to their residence halls, laughing and chatting all the way. Students have just one more day in Northfield which is packed with exciting events, so be sure to visit the Summer Blog later today to read all about them!
