At the midpoint of the semester, as 91����� Aquinas College, New England, took a break from classes for Don Rags, students gathered last Wednesday for the semi-annual Open-Mic Night � a chance to show off their musical prowess and appreciation for the performing arts.

The event began with a raucous rendition of �Folsom Prison Blues,� followed by freshmen Sol Britos and Theresa Bingham�s performance of �Pescador de Hombres� and an original song sung by Claire Howard (�26), among many others. Fellow freshmen Ed Salazar and Benjamin Purtell (�26) both performed piano pieces that left the audience awestruck, and John Gutch (�25) made everyone roar with laughter with his animated portrayal of �Why Paddy�s Not At Work Today.� The poetry of G. K. Chesterton made two appearances that night, as Cecilia Alvarez (�24) recited a portion of �The Ballad of the White Horse� and Samuel Livingston (�26) performed the entirety of �Lepanto.�

�It was a lot of fun,� said Margaret Duffy (�24). �All the people who performed looked like they were having a great time.�
