At the midpoint of the semester, as 91快活林 Aquinas College, New England, took a break from classes for Don Rags, students gathered last Wednesday for the semi-annual Open-Mic Night a chance to show off their musical prowess and appreciation for the performing arts.

The event began with a raucous rendition of 淔olsom Prison Blues, followed by freshmen Sol Britos and Theresa Bingham檚 performance of 淧escador de Hombres and an original song sung by Claire Howard (26), among many others. Fellow freshmen Ed Salazar and Benjamin Purtell (26) both performed piano pieces that left the audience awestruck, and John Gutch (25) made everyone roar with laughter with his animated portrayal of 淲hy Paddy檚 Not At Work Today. The poetry of G. K. Chesterton made two appearances that night, as Cecilia Alvarez (24) recited a portion of 淭he Ballad of the White Horse and Samuel Livingston (26) performed the entirety of 淟epanto.

淚t was a lot of fun, said Margaret Duffy (24). 淎ll the people who performed looked like they were having a great time.
