For the semester檚 final installment of the St. Vincent de Paul Concert & Lecture Series, on Friday evening the 91快活林 Aquinas College Choir and Orchestra performed Vivaldi檚 Gloria and a selection of Christmas carols. California students, faculty, staff, and their families arrived at the Fritz B. Burns Auditorium in St. Cecilia Hall in formal attire to savor these delights with due dignity.

Hearts soared at the Gloria, which adorns the traditional chant in baroque orchestral finery. After a brief intermission, however, the performers proved they could offer more than baroque grandeur, delivering festive renditions of classic Christmas carols with gusto. Patricia Doyle (25) was struck by one student檚 solo in particular. 淚t was magnificent! she effused. 淚t was so much fun to see everyone get so into it, added Cindy Graf (24).

The musicians bowed to a thunderous standing ovation before both groups adjourned to the St. Cecilia檚 lobby for refreshments and fellowship. 淭he performance left a light feeling in your chest, reflected Dillon Tuliau (24). 淪o overwhelmingly beautiful, it檚 almost sad.
