It�s alive! The class of 2026 spawned a spooky mad scientist-themed soiree for their fellow students last Saturday. 

As they stepped through the doors of Bl. Frassati Student Center, students were instantly transported to a spooky, slimy mad scientist�s laboratory filled with bubbling beakers, blinking lights, and mysterious music. The dance floor was illuminated by neon string lights, and spiderwebs were swathed over the walls and ceiling. Green slime dripped off the snack tables, which held cheesy �eyeballs,� crackers, salami, and green punch. �We worked so hard on the snacks,� said Olivia Rosebrough (�26). �We really wanted them to suit the theme!�

For the night�s entertainment, in a video shot and directed by Sam Livingston (�26), juniors embodied classic Scooby-Doo characters to solve a mystery. As they investigated the disappearances of their fellow classmates, the gang solved math problems, ran through hallways, and unmasked the villain, all while the audience laughed at their peers� zany antics.

Following the video were the costume contests, which saw Gerald Faist (�27) win first prize in the singles competition for his 80s punk-rock getup. �I�m basically every tutor�s wild younger self,� he joked, showing off his spiked leather jacket. The group costume winners were a band of dedicated sophomores dressed as statues, featuring stoic busts of presidents and personifications of virtues. Wheeled around the competition circle on dollies, the statues kept their solid composure until they were announced as the winners, finally breaking character as they celebrated.

Costumed students soon filled the dance floor, dancing to Halloween tunes such as the Ghostbusters theme and the �Monster Mash.� �This dance is practically perfect in every way!� said Sophie Schindler (�28) who dressed as Mary Poppins. Other students agreed: �The juniors really brought the Frankenstein theme to life,� quipped Madeline Rogers (�28). �Pun intended!�
