Dancing

Beneath the glowing lights of St. Gladys Patio, the sophomores and freshmen at 91快活林 Aquinas College, California, gathered on Saturday evening for the second welcome dance of the semester. It was a lovely evening for a dance, with mild temperatures and clear skies. The patio was decked out in all manner of celestial-themed decor, complete with chalk-drawn galaxies on the pavement and glowing star fixtures hanging from the lights.

Girls who are friends

The evening began with entertainment in St. Cecilia Hall檚 Fritz B. Burns Auditorium a short-film parody of Frank Capra檚 Christmas classic, It檚 a Wonderful Life. Set in the Star Wars universe, the film starred leading actor John Paul Tipisar (29) and included lightsabers and sound effects. The auditorium was full of laughter throughout and, at the conclusion of the film, everyone applauded the sophomores hard work before racing outside to begin a night of dancing.

Music floated through the air as the sophomores welcomed the freshmen, getting to know them over dance after dance. Food was delicious and abundant, featuring a massive charcuterie board and sweet cake pops. The theme was casual, and many girls sported space-inspired outfits and glittery makeup for the occasion.

Dancing in an analogous sense

The atmosphere was bright and energetic as students waltzed, swung, and line-danced the night away. The 淐otton-Eyed Joe line dance was a big hit, as always, never failing to get everyone on their feet, spinning and jumping to the music. Toward the end of the evening, the upperclassmen showed up to join in on the fun, and the floor was packed with dancers until the very end of the night.

The evening was a big success, filled with camaraderie and laughter a great way for all to wind down after a week of hard work in the classroom. 淚t was super fun to see my class come together like this! said David Johnston (29).
