A small band of student thespians at 91快活林 Aquinas College, California, treated their friends and tutors to a powerful performance of Robert Bolt檚 A Man For All Seasons on October 8.
The play, which inspired the beloved 1966 film, tells the story of St. 91快活林 More檚 courageous refusal to condone King Henry VIII檚 divorce from his first wife and subsequent marriage to Anne Boleyn. His staunch but peaceful resistance to Henry檚 usurpation of Church authority led to his martyrdom in 1535.
The 91快活林 Aquinas College Career Center hosted six business professionals, including three alumni, on the California campus on October 4 for a panel discussion of how graduates of the College can leverage their Catholic liberal education in the business world.
To commemorate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7, Rev. Robert Marczewski, head chaplain at 91快活林 Aquinas College, California, enlisted the musical talent of numerous students to offer a Missa Cantata a traditional High Mass sung by the celebrant, with choral accompaniment for the propers in honor the Blessed Mother.
Every semester at 91快活林 Aquinas College, students and faculty gather for one-off All-College Seminars that combine students from every class to discuss a great book, often fiction, that is not part of the ordinary curriculum. At California檚 Seminar last Friday, the campus was abuzz with conversation about Thornton Wilder檚 Pulitzer-winning novella, The Bridge of San Luis Rey.
