Having recovered from the afternoon�s spectacular � but arduous! � hike to Mugu Peak, the 2017 High School Summer Program students reassembled at 5:00 Saturday evening for a fabulous tri-trip BBQ dinner prepared by the prefects and grillmaster Tom Cavanaugh. After feasting on the steak, salad, and pumpernickel rolls, the group formed a procession, began praying the Rosary, and headed for the campus grotto, where they sang the Salve Regina for Our Lady. They also encountered a few of the pygmy goats kept by students on the lower campus �

Then came the evening�s main event � Open Mic Night � which began with a rousing rendition of �Happy Birthday� for Zuzu:

Next up were the acts themselves. �The performances were all fantastic, and there were multiple standing ovations, with crowds cheering every time,� says Head Women�s Prefect Kathleen Sullivan. �We had a great range of comedy acts, with Gabe and Rory; awesome dancing from Avery, David, and Sophie; beautiful spiritual songs and harmonies; a powerful group of guys singing �House of the Rising Sun,� several original music pieces; and it all ended with a beautiful cover of �Home.�� Indeed, Dan Selmeczy called last night the best Open-Mic Night of his 11 years on the program.
